In memory of John Virgo
March 1946 – February 2026

John brought snooker to life for generations.  A brilliant player, a legendary voice, and above all a man whose warmth, humour, and passion made the game feel like home.
 

From iconic moments at the table to unforgettable commentary in the box, John had a rare gift — he made everyone watching feel part of the action.

We were proud to work with him on Where’s the Cue Ball Going? and even prouder to call him a friend.

His voice may be silent, but his presence in the game — and in our memories — will never fade.
